A 'small' skill makes all the difference

When I was 10 years old my grandfather taught me how to splice rope. This was the acorn of The Oak & Rope Company est in 2009. Since then this has been my livelihood, created jobs for others and our products have created immeasurable joy around the world. Along the way I have shared the joy of making with others in an ad hoc way. In my 50th year I have decided to dedicate more of my time to share this wider alongside a team of other experts.

The Quercus Conservation Trust is my reaction to what I think the world needs right now. We have limited time and resources. I do not think we can change the world by focusing on 'the big issues', but by teaching people to get 'the little things' right, I believe we can make a difference.
