The Swing-To-Be

A swing makes a wonderful wedding present. A tree to hang it from is another matter, and most young couples don't have one yet. So we made a swing that can wait, and earn its keep in the meantime.

At the heart of the Swing-To-Be is our Medium Swing seat, carved in solid oak at our Kent workshop and large enough for most adults. We pair it with a set of oak legs so that, until the ropes go up, the seat has plenty to do indoors.

Use it as a side table beside a sofa or bed. Use it as a display board or table raiser, to lift a plant, a cake stand or a favourite object to just the right height. Use it as a step, sturdy enough for reaching a high shelf. And when you're ready, use it as the swing it was always meant to be: attach the ropes provided, find your branch or beam, and hang it.

There is a quiet secret in the stand. The oak legs you're left with once the swing is up are the very same we build for our Breakfast in Bed Trays, so one of our Butler's Trays will drop straight on and carry on serving breakfast in bed.

Comes with two engravings, so you can mark it with names, a date or a few words that matter.
